Calculation Method

Why do altitude and
temperature matter?

Yurtfan catalogue data is defined for dry air at sea level and 20 °C. Air density decreases as altitude or temperature increases. The selector converts the required site pressure to the catalogue reference density to find the correct model.

1

Altitude Pressure

First, atmospheric pressure corresponding to the entered altitude is calculated.

p(h) = 101325 × (1 − 2,25577×10⁻⁵ × h)⁵·²⁵⁵⁸⁸

h: rakım (m) · p: atmospheric pressure (Pa)

2

Air Density

Air density at the operating site is calculated using atmospheric pressure and temperature.

ρ = p(h) ÷ [287,05 × (T + 273,15)]

T: sıcaklık (°C) · ρ: air density (kg/m³)

3

Catalogue Pressure

The required site pressure is converted to the sea-level and 20 °C catalogue condition.

Pₖ = Pₛ × (ρ₂₀ ÷ ρₛ)

ρ₂₀: 1,204 kg/m³ · ρₛ: site density

Important: This tool is intended for preliminary selection. Final fan selection must be verified by Yurtfan engineers considering the system resistance curve, operating point, motor safety margin, conveyed medium, temperature limits and site conditions.
